Description

The Infinitybox IPM1 Intelligent Power Management kit represents the next generation of smart electrical body control.  It can be used to provide electrical control for any restoration, hot rod, street rod, resto-mod, race car of pro-touring build.  It replaces the traditional wiring harness that you would use to wire your vehicle with an advanced body control system.  The IPM1 kit builds on our 15 years of performance, restoration, racing and commercial vehicle experience.  It has been designed to be a simple, flexible and powerful system to wire vehicles.

We have also listened and learned from our customers since 2009.  The IPM1 kit incorporates the features and functions that our customers want.  Plus, we have streamlined the overall system to make installation and wiring easier.  Here are examples of enhancements of the IPM1 kit over the traditional Infinitybox system.

• Lower steady-state current draw-  We’ve reduced the system current draw by over half as compared to our traditional system.
• Input flexibility- The traditional Infinitybox system only offered ground-switched inputs.  The MASTERCELL NGX included with the IPM1 kit offers ground and high-side switched inputs for flexibility.  The MASTERCELL NGX also includes frequency-based inputs so you can make inputs conditional on engine RPM and vehicle speed.
• Low-Current Outputs- We have built low-current outputs into the MASTERCELL NGX.  These outputs let you easily wire indicators on the dash locally instead of having to power them from POWERCELL outputs.  This makes wiring your turn signals indicators, high-beam indicator and gauge lights simpler.
• A Smarter POWERCELL- The next generation POWERCELL NGX included with the IPM1 kit actively monitors the current flowing to each output.  This makes troubleshooting and diagnosing issues in the system easier.
• An Intuitive inSIGHT Diagnostic Screen- We have redesigned the inSIGHT LCD screen on the MASTERCELL NGX.  The menu is simpler to navigate, easier to read and offers more powerful diagnostic functions than the traditional system.
• A Configurable System- The Infinitybox IPM1 system can be configured and customized in the field with a simple Windows-based user interface.  This software tool and our inCODE NGX lets you assign outputs to inputs, configure how outputs turn on and off plus build in logic functions to make the system work the way you want.
• Integrated Heating & Air Conditioning Control- The Infinitybox inVIRONMENT heating & air conditioning control has been built into the MASTERCELL NGX.  This is designed to directly interface with the Vintage Air Gen IV and Gen 5 A/C systems.  Three simple wires connect the MASTERCELL NGX to the Vintage Air system for easy touch screen control using our inLINK NGX control interface.  (Sold separately)  This eliminates the need for an external control module.
• An Open Source Architecture System- The Infinitybox IPM1 kit communicates on J1939, the commercial truck standard.  All the commands are available for customers who want to design their own interfaces to work with the Infinitybox system.

  • Each output is rated up to 25 amps. A Single POWERCELL NGX control unit can supply up to 100 amps continuously.

  • Up to 16 POWERCLEL NGX modules can be added to an IPM1 kit.  (Sold separately)
• Standard inSIGHT Diagnostic Module allows for instant checks of all circuit inputs and outputs for simple troubleshooting.
• All mating electrical interfaces use OEM-grade sealed connectors
• MASTERCELL NGX & POWERCELL NGX enclosures sealed with watertight gaskets for high performance in all driving conditions.
• All enclosures feature clear covers for easy system status checks.
• Heartbeat LEDs to indicate system connectivity and indicate output status
• MASTERCELL input unit rated to 85°C
• POWERCELL control unit rated to 125°C
• All plastics used in enclosures are UL 94V0.
• All harnesses supplied with high-temperature TXL insulation
